Using KitCompliance day to day

How the everyday workflows fit together — inspections, reminders, equipment, courses, the accident book and reporting.

The dashboard

Your dashboard is the compliance overview: how many kits are compliant, which items expire within 30 days, any overdue inspections, and how many certified first-aiders you have. Each stat card is a shortcut — click it to jump straight to what needs attention.

KitCompliance dashboard: compliant kits, items expiring within 30 days, overdue checks, first-aider count, an inspections-completed chart and an expiring-soon list

Kit inspections

There are two ways to inspect a kit:

Mark each item pass or fail, flag anything expired or low on stock, and submit. Every inspection is timestamped and kept permanently, building the history an auditor wants to see. Not sure how often to check? Read how often first aid kits should be inspected.

Expiry reminders

Whenever you set an expiry date — on a kit item, an equipment service or a first-aider certificate — KitCompliance watches it for you and emails a reminder before it lapses. Items expiring within 30 days also surface on the dashboard and on your reorder list.

Reorder list: anything that fails an inspection or nears expiry is collected under Reports → Reorder list, so restocking is one export, not a scavenger hunt.

Equipment

Track AEDs, eye-wash stations, fire extinguishers, oxygen and spill kits under Equipment. Record the make, model, serial number, location and next service date, and log each maintenance visit. Equipment can also carry its own QR code for on-the-spot inspection checks.

Courses & first-aiders

Under Courses, record each person's first-aid training — FAW, EFAW, paediatric, and so on — with certification and expiry dates and the training provider. KitCompliance warns you before certificates expire so you're never caught without adequate cover.

The accident book

Log incidents under Accident Reports: date, time, location, injured person, injury type and severity, treatment given, and photo evidence. Records are stored securely and can be exported for RIDDOR or insurance purposes.

Reports & exports

Open Reports → Compliance for a one-click PDF showing kit status, inspection history and first-aider cover — hand it straight to an auditor. CSV exports are available for kits, items, inspections and certificates if you'd rather work in a spreadsheet.

Multiple sites

On the Premium plan, the multi-location dashboard rolls every site, kit, AED and eye-wash station into one compliance view, so you can spot the gaps across the whole organisation at a glance.
