Cancellation and refunds

Last updated: 9 October 2026

KitCompliance is a software subscription — there are no physical goods to return. This page explains how to cancel, when we refund, and what happens to your records. It forms part of our terms of use.

Cancelling

Refunds

14-day cooling-off (consumers)

If you subscribe as a consumer (not for a business), the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the day you first subscribe to cancel for any reason. If you asked us to start the service straight away and used it during those 14 days, we may keep a proportionate amount for the days before you cancelled; otherwise you get a full refund. Business customers aren't covered by these regulations, but the cancellation and mistake rules above still apply.

Changing plan

Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal. If your records exceed the new plan's limits, nothing is deleted — you just can't add more until you're back within the limit.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with, through Stripe. They usually appear within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.

Your data after cancelling

Cancelling a plan doesn't delete your kits, inspections or accident records. You can export them at any time, and you can ask us to delete the whole account — see the privacy policy. Keep in mind that employers often have to retain accident records for years.
